The strategy for accelerating the company's growth will take into account two points: opening new offices and remote working. Spain is the target market for internationalization.
After the injection of five million euros from the Explorer Investments fund into Nextbitt, the Portuguese technology company's plans are now more ambitious. Over the next 12 months, it expects to hire 60 new professionals for the different areas in which it operates and Spain is the market it is targeting for internationalization.
"In the first five years, our goal is to be present in four or five geographies in the European community. Spain will clearly be one of them; the other geographies are still being studied. Given our growth to date, maintaining this pace of growth means extending our presence to new markets, without ever neglecting our national base of operation," Miguel Salgueiro, founder & partner of Nextbitt, told Pessoas.
In this challenging context, we intend, with this investment, to hire 60 people over the next 12 months, in order to sustain the acceleration of growth," says Miguel Salgueiro. This is despite "the difficulty of hiring more qualified professionals like the ones we are looking for".
"This continues to be one of the biggest challenges for the information technology sector. That's why we work every day to attract new employees, and we're committed to continuous career progression, in order to work both on bringing in new talent and retaining those who are already part of the Nextbitt team."
At the moment, the profiles the company is looking for are net fullstack developer, software tester, BI and environment engineers. "We believe that remote work is the future of the organizational ecosystem, so we don't put remote work offers aside," says the manager.
The strategy for accelerating the company's growth will take into account two points: opening new offices and remote working. "On the one hand, we intend to expand the Nextbitt business to other countries by setting up new offices and retaining talent. On the other hand, in keeping with the reality in which we live today, we are also counting on the possibility of certain talents working in different markets through remote work," he explains.
However, the company is betting on a hybrid model. "Since the pandemic, we've had the opportunity to understand the many advantages of remote working. However, we believe that a solely remote system can also be detrimental to the company's culture, so we have adopted a hybrid system, both face-to-face and online," says Miguel Salgueiro.
Spain is, for the moment, the company's next bet for internationalization. One of the "four or five" that are being studied.
For 2022, Nextbitt aims to achieve a 30% growth in turnover and ten to 15 new clients in Portugal.
